All of the English teachers working in Uijeongbu public schools (under GEPIK), save one (who was still undecided when I last heard), quit this year. We were tired of being jerked around. Also, we were told that we would be expected to attend ridiculous, regularly scheduled Friday evening meetings. If that sounds like a good deal to you, sign away.
It's possible that they will drop the meetings, since everyone quit. You'll know soon enough if you sign. |

Why did you all quit? Was it just because of the Friday night meetings? Were they EVERY night? How long did they last? |

We quit because the GEPIK program (as run by Uijeongbu, in this particular case) decided to dump a bunch of extra bullsh*t on us (camps in far away places, Friday meetings, etc.) while denying us raises. Most (all?) of us would have been entering into our third contracts.
In short, they tried to give us a raw deal, and we told them to shove it. |
