Seems like Frank didn't prepare very well, though. He got pinned on a couple issues he ought not have gotten pinned on. He didn't mention the slippery slope. He missed his chance about the purpose of government when that was brought up. He didn't point out that violence and problems have existed long before rock music or curse words. Etc.

Basically, he floundered.

I was 5 years old when that video originally aired. Wow. I had no idea the imaginary "left vs. right" debate was already being pushed on Americans back then. How sad.


I'm totally on Frank's side on this issue but I agree with Qinella. He didn't really argue that well.

Mick Jagger was much better arguing for his generation in the famous TV interview with British establishment figures in 1967. But those crusty old English guys were much less aggressive than those on the Zappa clip.
