I just watched this movie and thought it was real funny. Made me laugh out loud a few times. But I wondered why I'd never heard of it and then I read on the internet that it was a huge failure and nobody in America watched it. What gives?

I think they messed up the marketing. I thought the movie would be a date movie (and suck) but it turned out to be more like a typical Luke Wilson, Old School type movie.

Nope, they advertised it like it was Superman, then made it turn out to be a comedy movie, which in turn probably made a lot of people think of it as a low brow comedy/parody. That was the trailer at least.

On top of that, there were other movies that came out at about the same time, including Superman, which everyone felt obliged to see, and since movies in the US are so expensive now, nobody had the time or money to spend to check it out.

Who's it supposed to appeal to??

The super 'girl' is a super powered emotional mess/ psycho. Who's going to be happy about that? Glad you enjoyed it BillRob, but I didn't get that many laughs out of it. Maybe I'm more mainstream than I thought.

Post this on a different forum. Very few people want to know your views on whatever trivia passes through your life. Moderators--how about you do your job and clean up all of the rubbish that is mis-posted on other forums? It is a pain to wade through all of the garbage like this post when looking for Korea-related information.

Thanks for posting on this forum.

I plan on seeing it myself, although the marketing of it was poor-since Oct. 2003, I plan on seeing all movies with Thurman in it-except that one iwth Meryl Streep in it

I'd heard of it, but didn't see it advertised very much at all.
They weren't really behind it, so it was doomed not to do well at the box office.
I'll wait for it on DVD like 99.9% of the planet.
