Oh I'm sure that the guys are into the racing girls, but hey, I've never met a Korean who watches racing, especially NASCAR. Do you think flower boys like racing that much?

Seems like i first saw the previews they were putting out durn near a year ago.

Right from the start i thought it looked like a purty funny movie, and likely nuthin' near as flat out stupid
as that made esp. for the dumbed-down masses: Dukes of Hazzard shee-ite.

Hello, just because I am from the South doesn't mean I'm a bumpkin. I even grew up laughing at these people. I never say stuff like "It's fixin to rain, or spend my time hunting and fishing...hahaha And no, I can't play the banjo and I don't want to play the banjo. Actually, I'd like to play the saxophone someday. I hate country music, too!!!

I am a true southener. Born in Greenville South Carolina. (first state to secede from the union) Spent some years there and in Nebraska but Mother was a Steel Magnolia of the 1st degree. One thing she would tell you is that people from Florida ARE NOT SOUTHENERS...why they are practically yankees!

1. "Fixing to" is a colloquialism. Not a sign that someone is stupid. In Nebraska instead of "your welcome", people tend to say "you bet". ex: Me: Thanks for the coffee. Husker: You bet.

2. Really it is "fixin ta" clear to "Fiddin da" depending on how south you get. (Again florida doesn't count)

3. Another typical colloquialism from the south is over yonder. Same as over there. Up the road a piece. Same as over yonder but farther.

4. I am going to "put something up" same as put something away.

I went to elocution school cuz I wanted to be broadcaster and have a very neutral sound to my speech but when I am tired it does come out.

I don't get NASCAR never have. But then don't really get golf either and that is quite the la-de-freaking-da sport.

I like some country music not all. Like some classical music not all. Like Rage Against the Machine and Black Eyed Peas.

I like biscuts and gravy and Indian food. I like deep fried turkey but I also adore hummus and baba ganuch.

I don't play the banjo but do like the sound. I play the flute.

Mama doesn't call it the civil war she calls it the war of northern aggression.

Grandmother on Mothers side finds YANKEES gauche, without manners and completely without culture. I don't think so but it is funny to hear her gasp in horror and whisper how children in the North do not address adults as Ma'am and Sir. (I still do this to this day.)

I think the bumpkin thing is a stereotype ...funny sometimes...I think Talledaga Nights will be hysterical. Because some southeners and others take car racing as serious as some of the soccer nutballs I have seen in Europe.

So Miss Jade is fixin ta see that movie. I hear it is playing in theatre over yonder. Ya'all behave and remember FLORIDA IS NOT THE SOUTH. Yankess crawling all over the place and ya can't get a decent biscut or grits to save your life.

Bye now,
Miss Jade

I never owned a dog in Korea, so it had to have been that other girl. I can't remember who it was, though.

Can you explain what this means? I think it's an attempt to be funny, but I just don't get it. Do you have to invade another country to be a country? Do you have to have had slavery to be a real country? Do you have to have dropped an atomic bomb to be a real country? Or do you have to have lost to Canada in a war to be a real country?

It's a line from South Park's Blame Canada. South Park is a little cartoon show on the Comedy Network. Similar to Monty Python's using Belgium as the butt of all their jokes (Monty Python's theory was Belgium was so harmless, who could possibly think they were serious?), South Park uses Canada much for the same reason.
