Echoing a bit what captain kirk said,
"I have a good hagwon job" sounds wrong to some people.
Yet, don't most foreigners teaching English in Korea work at hagwons?
Aren't many perhaps reasonably content?
They may not be pulling down the 2.5 with 3 plus weeks off, but they may be content otherwise.
Just maybe some have good jobs, or at least tolerable ones? |

sometimes thats a mighty fine line! |
Sometimes it's not even a line - more often than not - it's a dot. |

| As far as hakwan jobs can be good. My bosses are very nice and very honest. They have MA degrees from the US. They are physically and mentally beautiful. They listen to my suggestions. They are considerate. They care about the students. They listen to my suggestions and take advantage of them when they are worthy. When they are not, they call me on it. They compliment me when I do well, and they are considerate when I am not doing well. Congratulations to them. |
Dulouz been down so long it's startin' to look like up. |

What would you say the pinnacle of esl teaching here to aim for is? i've known 2 people that possibly qualified:
1) Canadian on tourist visa pulling in 6M+ a month on privates and living cheaply in a shared appartment (drawback perhaps).
2) Uni Proff doing 110 hours of lectures a week for 3.3M a month, + bonuses for published papers., with nice appt. Filled up spare time with lucrative privates to select groups of businessmen: another 4M a month. And still with lots of free time. |
