We need your interest on this one folks. As most of the older people here know, a few years(?) ago we had a great photo contest that the Lemon put together and it was one of the most enjoyable threads I've read/participated in-ever.

I recently pm'd the Lemon and asked him what he thought about getting another photo contest going, said that it had been discussed before (I'm looking for the thread but I can't find it) and that if enough people expressed an interest...it might be doable again.

Here's what Lemon wrote:

Quote:
To run it again would cost about $18 US, which is $10 for a year of shared hosting space and $8 thereabouts for a domain name for a year (daveskoreaphotos.org or whatever). Coppermine, the album software I used, is free and installs easily on these shared services.

I'm happy to help if someone else takes the ball...

Now I'd love to run the show, but really...I'd like to defer to someone who's got experience doing this before, only because I'm really busy these days getting ready for Korea in December and I'm taking two classes right now.

SO if any of you YAHOOS (just kidding, don't hate) want to take the ball and run, we could have another photo contest and then we could look at all the cool pictures again and it would be grand.

Whaddya think?

COME ON PEOPLE!!

I'd be happy to organize it but someone would have to explain to me what I would have to do--step-by-step because I'm a computer dork.

I don't care about the couple of bucks it would cost either. If there's enough interest I'd be happy to do it.

How about another 2-part contest--Korea photos only, and then everything else ?

Sounds great...

I was just posting a response saying that if you wanted to do it - Lemon will help with the tech stuff. I can send you some cabbage too, no worries. But I would need your (cough - stalker) address to send the money. Just kidding, I could pay pal it to ya right?

Definitely interested. I don't like to speak for others, but I'm pretty sure Jinju's a lock as well.

I have already set up a domain with the intention of doing this (awhile back) so once I get around to having a friend show me what to do we can get the ball rolling. Sorry for my procrastination. So don't anyone go out of their way to pay to set up a new one.

I'd be interested, although I'm no pro. It sounds fun, though.
