|
|
| Anyone have any experience opening .hwp (hangul word program) documents on a mac? I've tried in Word, Text edit and have tried changing the extension from .hwp to .doc All to no avail. If anyone knows of any conversion software or anything I would be greatly appreciative. I'm running OSX 10.3 if that is of any use. |

| Tell whoever it is to send you a .doc or .rtf format file. You shouldn't be expected to buy a program. |

No, you will have to buy the software or find 'alternative' methods to get it.
Or...
You can install an HWP filter for MS Word and open the files in Word.
The link for the download is here.
Since it was designed for installation on a Korean OS, if you're not running
a Korean version of Windows (or Windows 2000 or XP with the default system
code page set to Korean), you won't be able to read the dialog boxes, but if
you just keep pressing Enter to progress through setup, it should install just fine.
I have not tested this at all...it's just what I found. |

That's not real helpful when you're on a Mac, as the OP is... |

| Thanks all. Got it taken care of, just told the guy to resend it as .doc BTW, there are not "alternative" methods of downloading Hangul 2006 for mac as far as I've found. The joys of using a mac over here are never ending! Anyway, thanks for all the suggestions. |
