I don't suppose anyone knows of anywhere in Daegu where I could take belly dancing lessons? (I'm out in the Ansim/Banyawol area, so it would be awesome if there happened to be a place in my area...)
Let me know if anyone has any ideas! |

Be wary of the quality of belly dance classes out here... many "teachers" have only been dancing 1-3 years (and even then they only do Jillina choreographies... *sigh*), and most that I've looked into aren't good (I've been a belly dancer since I was 13). Belly dance is fairly new to Korea.
Just a heads up that the technique they teach might not be near perfect. I've only checked out teachers in Seoul though, so I know nothing of Daegu.
Good luck |

I've checked out a couple places in Gangnam, looked into "belly queens" and "belly dance korea" and to be quite honest I wouldn't go to any of them (that's just me though- I've taken to practicing at home and with a friend, it sucks because I miss the social aspect of it but I wouldn't learn anything in the classes so I'm on my own haha) And those are the BIG ones.
I guess belly dance Korea would be OK if you're looking to learn some choreographies, as I've said before the quality I have seen out here is not great. They're good at the choreos (which are ripped off by famous belly dancers, btw. Nothing out here I've seen is original).
http://www.bellykorea.com/ is the link. She does privates in english but they're super expensive and not worth it in my opinion ($100 US an hour), otherwise you can join normal classes in Korean. |

I forgot to say- if you've taken belly dance before, and you have an idea of what you're doing I think you'd be much better off renting a studio for an hour or two a week and practicing on your own.
I hope you find something you like |

I know a place near downtown...but i assume they operate with no english. If you're interested, say so, and I'll jot down the location, the next time i'm going by. I don't know exactly where it is, offhand.
I just saw their sign one day and thought...hmm interesting, but then i pictured the koreanized way of doing things. |
