So my hogwan is screwing me out of health ins and pension ( I am from a country which allows me a refund for Korean pension payments). I have asked them repeateadly to be enrolled in at least health ins.................
But I hate to rock the boat even more and make a scene so early in my contract........what if I waited until my last week and threatened to report them for not enrolling me and simply blackmail the boss for a percentage of the unpaid premiums?
Unethical? So f-ing what. I have never in my life have put up with so much bs, lying, stealing, backstabbers.
What if I get sick? |

Go down to the labour board and report the low-life MFers. They are stealing from you. In any western countries, they'd be in a lot of shit for that. Korea won't change until people start standing up for themselves. |

You could try calling the pension office and explain your situation and ask how to be enrolled. It IS the law after all. Without knowing for sure, I am pretty confident that they have some department that follows this sort of thing up. |

As of January 1st, 2006 all foreign workers in Korea are required by law to be enrolled in the National Health Insurance plan. If your wjn hasn't enrolled you, he's breaking the law. However, once you are enrolled you'll be required to pay for the months you were in Korea and not covered (payment and coverage is retroactive to the start of your contract period).
Contact the NHIC and the NPC.

Even if that strategy would work (maybe it would, I have no idea), there's one problem with it, and you said it yourself:

I am leaning towards blackmailing. It would be more fun. |

Here's a question.
As a guy supporting my family, I hvae very little money left at the enc of each month. So far, my director is abotu 1.7 (her 4.5%) behind on pension. So let's say the pension office gets after and demands the money. They will also want that from me. Sure I get it back after a few months, but what if I simply don't have it to give in the first place? Is the whole process arrested or dismissed? Does anybody have experience with this?
Thanks. |
