That's right! I'm American and buy American! Wait....What's that on my ALL-AMERICAN Levi jeans zipper? Y...K...K? Yoshida..... Kogyo.....Kakushiki....? uhhh....nevermind....
While there is plenty of info on past wars from differing perspectives (history is written by those who won or something like that), I do believe we should move on. Read and listen to various views, but always form your own.
Anyways, there are several movies directed by Clint Eastwood about the battle of Iwo Jima. One from a U.S. view (Flags of Our Fathers) and a Japanese view (Red Sun, Black Sand). Should be REALLY interesting! |

This is why I don't think this point is really comparable.
I don't think the US paid any compensation to Germany for the firebombing of Dresden, for example.
Reviling what the Japanese did in Nanking and other places during WW2- definitely.
Reviling them now for not having paid compensation to every Asian nation?
I don't see the point, frankly. |

OMG an attrocity.
You sir or madam are realy sad. Depriving your self of Japanese products and culture because of something that happened 60 years ago is just silly.
*beep* I am Polish by birth and I will not refuse to go to Germany and or not purchase their goods. I had my family involved in WW2 some died some didn't.
You want to know something even more disgusting! There is a friggen Hitler Hof about 2 minutes from where I live. |
A bit harsh aren't you? I think if you read the book and knew that the author killed herself leaving behind her husband and young child, you would probably understand where peri's coming from. I know a lot of people in England, America who would never buy a german made car or other products. Same with Australia, many won't buy Japanese stuff. Thing is, all of these countries are riling with German and Japanese stuff.
I think the majority has moved on. |
