Didn't realise this:
"Korea's first subway line was constructed with the technical and economic aid of Japan. However, some say that the total extent of Japanese aid was hidden from Koreans at that time."

What i want to know is ..who hid the fact Japan was helping them out, and why? |

"South Korea's first subway line was constructed with the technical and economic aid of [[Japan]]. However, Japanese stuffs were excluded from the opening ceremony in 1974 and the Japanese assistance was hidden from Koreans; a Korean official used the assassination attempt on President Park as an excuse for it. Immediately before the opening, a Korean residing in Japan tried to assassinate President Park and killed his wife instead. Strangely, this incident inflamed Korean anti-Japanese sentiment."
wow.
So Japan built the subway, a korean killed The Korean first lady, and Japan got all the blame. |

Really amazing country isn't it? I do like the subway system here though.
Really makes you think. Japan just can't win can they? Bad to Korea, demonized. Nice to Korea, indifference (they must have a secret agenda). *Sigh* |

Korean's get beat on century after century by foreign aggressors, but lack the technical know-how or will to defend themselves.
They lash out at the Japanese, and use Dokdo as a symbol of their anger, when in reality, they have never shown the sack to fight anyone but themselves. They do this only because they have their American big-brother to fight their battles. Still, they appease the North shamelessly, showing the North they fear what it could do.
History has a funny way of repeating itself. |

The same thing happens to countries who are nice to Korea too. After all, if it wasn't for America, there wouldn't even be a South Korea. But look at how badly the US is demonized here. |

The truth is, if it weren't for USSR, there wouldn't be a South Korea. |

Haha, OK, or China for that matter, if you want to go that route. |

You guys are talking like they were here until yesterday working on the Guri line. Yeah, they began the subway as we know it, but it was hardly anything worth forgiving Japan's colonial past over.
More a feat was how they linked this country together (for the first time, I believe) with the rail system in general.
Who was that again?
Gotta love the accountability of the Wiki. |
