Recruiter Warning: Chris Lee

For anyone who is thinking about using this recruiter, don't. Refer to the reasons below.

1) He's not a registered recruiter in South Korea.

2) He recruits heavily for a hogwan chain called Kids Herald that violates Korean Labor Laws. KIDS HERALD have been known for not deducting Income Taxes, deducting for Korean Pension Fund, and deducting for Medical Insurance Premiums. Mr.Chris Lee has been aware of these practices, and still recruits for KIDS HERALD at the expense of "newbies." Many of his job offers have been seen by "newbies" on www.monster.com.

3) He has a Canadian woman call "newbies" claiming to work at the school she calls from. After "newbies" arrive at their schools, they have found she does not work there . They also have found out she lied about working conditions. She told workers that employers were easy to work with when in fact certain employers were verbally abusive.

4) Mr.Lee has said that contracts would be honored, and employers were reputable. Contracts were changed after after workers arrived at their schools.

5) Mr.Lee has been verbally abusive towards "newbies" upon requests for help with contractual disputes. Workers have spoke to him about pay issues, and he has yelled at them using profanity.

Can you paste his passport number, photo, phone number, and any other pertinent personal information? Apparently that sort of thing is totally okay here.

In Korea, the truth is not an adequate defense against libel charges.

fredinkorea, why not post your personal story for us to read? The Op sounds a little to general and copied form somewhere else. I'm not saying it's not true, but I'd put a lot more stock into your personal examples.

Thanks for posting, OP. You don't need a "personal story" to get your point across.

No he doesn't. But if he wanted to post one it might add validity to the thread.

What's wrong with asking?

Sounds like most recruiters in Korea (with very limited exceptions).

Anyone else find this disturbing? I know I had some bad experiences with rats/snakes co-workers, but this is very bad. Wanna bet she's an illegal?

... being a registered recruiter in Korea doesn't mean squat. It's just a piece of paper, it doesn't mean that the recruiter is honest.
