Sorry if I got some of you excited. It's just a cafe in Edae that gloms on the name. Ah Korea. |

There's an Ikea in rural Gwangju, just over the mountain from Seohyun in Bundang. It's a tiny furniture store that is supposed to sell real Ikea goods. Same logo and everything.
Then again there's also a Tim Horton's, real logo and all, in Suwon...where am I going with this?.... |

Ikea is not Ikea unless it's a large store full of medium-quality, well-designed and very cheap household goods and furniture. This is what the name Ikea means in Europe anyway.
When it eventually comes to Korea it will be expensive. Mark my words. |

Ikea furniture is sold in Korean stores but I don't think they've opened their own yet. And yes, it is outrageously priced. I don't remember the details but a friend of ours was visiting us in the US a couple years ago and commented on how nice the table we had in our son's room was. Then, she told us that it costs something like 5 times more at the store in Seoul. Couldn't believe when I told what it actually cost. |
