I bought my SeXbox strictly to play the Halo games, and it was worth every penny. How many games can you play over and over again (that's just the campaign, mind you...I haven't even bothered with the multiplayer, which must be gangbusters, as popular as it is) and still get a kick out of them?

In any case, all the best PC games eventually make their way to my lovely machine.

At least Halo ran well on the Xbox. That's more than can be said for Microsofts' lame-o port. That was MS doing it's worst in order to sell a couple more Xbox units.

If it's PC vs. original Xbox, the PC kicks it around every time, all coding being equal. The Xbox is essentially a very weak PC. The 360 will be a vast improvement, but it still can't compete with a powerful PC. Until the Quad-core was brought to light, it looked like the 360 would kick around the PC, but all in the last couple of months, that has turned around again.

Granted, the kickin' PC will cost more than an Xbox360, but you get what you pay for. Wink

I was entertaining a console for a while, after the Xbox specs came out, but I quickly remembered that whatever is in the Xbox is soon to be on the PC as well, and then some. Besides, I can't see myself having a machine that is only for playing games. I like gaming, but having an entirely separate machine solely for that purpose seems strange to me. So, I am back in my right mind, and sticking with the superior PC.

I say this having only played a few FPSs on my old Playstation many years ago, but I hate playing an FPS with a console controller. Gotta have the mouse (or better yet trackball) or I'm toast, especially in multiplayer. Thus, PC all the way for me.

Totally. The mouse/key combo is a killer. I played a friends playstation 2 for a while and ended up with a serious problem with my thumb. I suppose one may get used to it, but the initial pain was telling me that getting used to it would be like taking pain medicine; it becomes non-painful, but in the long run, it's still doing damage.

I'm telling you, you guys NEED to get F.E.A.R. and get your a$$es on board.

Bulsajo and myself have been tearing it up. I now have "frequent" Korean visitors to my server that enjoy doing the whole Korea vs. all thing. I love it. TEARING THEM UP I TELL YOU!!!!! However, to make it fair, I have to have the "even teams option" set on my server. This way, teams are balanced based on each person's score (i.e. 1st and 2nd place get split; 4th place goes with 1st and 3 place goes with 2nd, etc.).

It's great. Let's get something going! Razz Very Happy

In case anyone doesn't have the game, you can get a multiplayer-only version free and legal at the following site.

By the way, where is Far Cry: Instincts on the list? I had at least as much fun playing that one as I did with Half-Life 2.

nobody's mentioned warrock. it's not a graphically amazing game, but it's simple and fast ... it's also hella hard playing against koreans. progamers here are hardcore.

warrock is run by nexon. get an ID and everything else is free. it's the only game i play now.

Agreed it should be on the list to be complete. CL obviously favours the mp games. If FEAR didn't have a solo campaign I never would have gotten into it.

Voted HL2, cause for me it is current. Played through HL1 about 7 times i think. Can see my slef replaying 2. Got bored of FEAR after about 5hrs, though I might give the free multi a blast. Multiplayer, CS wins for me. Playing on Korean severs means I don't have to know about all the insults I'm receiving. Bought Battlefield over the weekend, top game, it just feels cluncy in terms of finding severs, load times and such.
