Have no other young white girls died in the last ten years that are worthy of media attention? |
Or any other young [insert ethnicity here] girls at all? |

Asian countries should clean up their recruitment to screen out such dregs. people have a bad enough image of esl teachers as it is.
I'm all for the screening process started in korea. Countries like Thailand need it much much more though. When i was in Cambodia the Phnom Penh times seemed to carry a story about police arresting a foreign paedophile virtually every other day. |

I think the loser career progression goes:
Korea -> Bangkok -> Vietnam -> A third world prison cell |

| Heemstede, Netherlands: I volunteered as an English teacher at an atheneum school, planning and conducting activities revolving around English and the U.S. culture. |
A couple European e-friends were reviewing his resume and called BS on a couple points. A teacher in Netherlands noted there were no volunteer English teachers in the system. In fact, there was such a huge shortage of English teachers he'd quickly find himself a real job.
And what is with the definite article on U.S. culture? Subjects are non-countable. You don't teach a math or the math. You teach math.
Who makes that kind of mistake? |

You mean to tell me that an accused murderer might have lied on his resume? Sorry, I just don't see that happening. |

I can see this thing running on and on worldwide.
I just saw Larry King and the Professor that shopped him is British!
This has the potential to intrigue so many.
Brits
Americans
Thai's
Koreans
I'm leaving Korea soon and maybe just in time, I can see there being a masive backlash from the media, parents and schools here in Korea and an ESL teachers life won't be worth living for a few months. |

This seems to be the only John Karr thread not locked. Anyone notice he got biz class for his trip home? Now there's an idea if your hagwon tries to screw you out of a ticket home. Take the fall for some high profile murder and let the DNA evidence clear you on the other end.
FYI I'm calling dibs on the Lindbergh baby. |

Didn't read through all the threads, but I read on yahoo this am that he was looking into a sex change operation at a clinic in Thailand.... Oh, yeah~ He sat in business class and wined and dined like the best of them - champagne, Evian water, a "gourmet" meal (if you count airline food as gourmet, that is).... |

I just flew from LA on that same flight. Economy is almost as good as business class on some airlines. God I love Thai Airlines! Great food, leg space and then some, and a pedophile up in business class. Who could ask for more! Well, it was all great, as we didn't have the pedophile. I was worried about arriving in Bangkok when he was leaving, but I missed that by a day.
By the way, I read that he was in business sucking down the booze and getting relaxed so he would talk to the officers (he hadn't been arrested yet- he was just being "escorted", so if he said something, it would be allowable.)
He didn't do it, IMHO, and it will be fun to watch the DA, etc. squirm out of this- not to mention the media.
The Bangkok media is full of the story, and they are passing laws at this moment to tighten up on teacher hires from abroad. Maybe the wages will go up in Thailand? Well, one can dream. |

This got forwarded to me today:

Hey,
How ya doing? All's good here in Korea. I just wanted to pass this along.
Here's something creepy that our director pointed out to me yesterday. Last year, I finished my contract with my present school, and they were trying to find a replacement. They had one candidate in mind. The guy seemed to have alot of experience with children and had taught English for 10 years. The school was ready to hire him when a hot blond applied for the job and the school scooped her up and immediately hired her. Yesterday, our director recognized a picture from the newspaper. It was the guy they were gonna hire. He's the guy suspected of killing Jon Benet Ramsay 10 years ago. Had the school hired him, right now it would be (name deleted), a child killer and myself working at this school. Pretty nutty.
I've attached his resume (which is creepy) and his pic (which is even creepier). Also, one of his e-mails to the school is added at the bottom. His e-mail address is there in case you wanna e-mail him and tell him how much of a stand-up guy he is!
I thought that this was quite crazy!

With the prospect of maybe sitting in a Thai jail (for what I don't know) rather than an American one, it could convince someone to say enough to make sure of getting extradited back to the US. |
