Nice how you say it's not "cool to be an *beep" to people and then you go on to make all kinds of hateful and xenophobic statements about Koreans to the extent of wishing them killed by a nuclear bomb.
earlier you were threating another poster, claiming that you would ask Dave to ban this poster if he posted again on your thread. All anybody would have to do, is send your post that I quoted, to Dave and it is very likely that YOU would end up being banned as (a) such hateful talk is against the code of conduct and (b) Dave makes a lot of money from Korean job ads. |

The recruiter lied about everything. Then, my branch promised to redress the wrongs. They lied.

I have post-grad credentials. I'm done scrubbing floors at a hagwon......... I'd rather do it at a uni.  There, at least someone will spit on me if I'm on fire. |

If you work at main, you should sit down and talk to Inchul. You got hired by CDI, which means you have really good credentials and they can't afford to lose you. If it's an HI problem, tell Inchul you need your HI to ease up on you or to change HI's.

Yeah, sorry, that really wasn't cool of me--actually, beyond not cool (sorry, my vocabulary's not good so I can't think of more denigrating expressions of self-condemnation). I went ahead and deleted that post . . . maybe you could edit that part out of your post so it's not up on the board at all anymore . . . Had a bad experience with a few Koreans at my school and tried to cope with my anger through transfer. I'm glad to say my last visit to Korea (May 2008) entirely rehabilated my view of Koreans and I must say, it's my favorite place in Asia, though I've never visited Japan or HK. If it's any sort of explanation, my bestfriend is a Korean named Lee, who incidentally is a devout Christian, while the best boss I've ever had was also a Korea who was a devout Christian. Hence, the Christian remark. My apologies, especially to the Koreans who have only shown me kindness: ajuma park, ajuma han, ajuma chai, ajuma in Daegu, hotel agassi in Pusan, Lee, Jeong, Eunice, Jeong, Sunny and all the others guys and girls at UCSD . . . amazing, how a few negative experiences blinded me to how wonderful so many Koreans are . . .

You guys are right, my post was totally out of line. I made a really unfair stereotype about Koreans . . . don't do what I did Reddog; you sound almost anti-Christian in your remarks. EVERY Christian I met was super nice, like somebody needs to call up the Pope and inquire about canonization . . .

Well, most people I met in Seoul were nice and did seem to value those things as much as anyone. I guess this must have included a few Christians, but some of the coolest people I met in Korea were Buddhists or came from Buddhist families. Others just weren't religious. (I didn't get to know a lot of Koreans outside Seoul and Incheon.)
Sorry to sound anti-Christian, but when I think of Christians in Korea I think of that guy in Myeong-dong wearing a sign warning all the shoppers what was in store for us ... or the woman in the subway who kept trying to invite me to her church even after my Korean friend told her no ... or one of the first English speakers I met when I first got off the plane, who just wanted to invite me to a church.  Then again, I did have a super-religious student who was Christian, and he was very nice. We just didn't have many beliefs in common. |

Im not sorry to sound anti-anumal rights but when I think of them I think of idiots throwing pain at fur coats or morons who think animal's lives are more valuable than human lives. Idiots who would save a dog and leave a child to die...remind you of someone? |

No, but you sure remind me of someone who is universally despised here on the boards because of his disgusting behaviour. An idiot who wouldn't stop derailing discussions and forced everyone to listen to his idiocy. Who didn't get the fact that people were laughing at him when they posted that Peter was a rock, "literally." Who claims to value human life but wants to incinerate millions of innocent humans while they're still alive ... remind you of anyone? |

It seems like you got a good contract. That's probably why you are so happy at CDI.
That being said, the vast majority of CDI teachers don't get paid 35,000won/hr. The contract I was offered was for 2.4 million + 25,000Won overtime. I have an education degree, by the way.
I just didn't like the fact that you must work 6 days a week and the 7 days of paid vacation + no national holidays. |

| that's true . . . most don't get 35, but the at the main branch (Chungdahm) I'm pretty sure the lowest they pay is 28,000 an hour . . . I could be wrong, but that's the lowest I've ever heard. I know at other locations where you're not on hourly, but on salary, the pay isn't nearly as good, so that's a good point. I think hourly is offered at the eight branches (Chungdahm, Mokdong, Pudong, etc.), whereas salary is given at the other locations, where are franchises meaning someone has paid to use the CDI name, but CDI doesn't not actually own or run the place . . . |
