Oh man. I met Letty in person, and the cuteness factor was *off the charts.* I tried taking pictures, but none of them fully captured the astounding beauty. Gorgeous, gorgeous kid. Phew. |

I don't know her in person, but seeing her cute little face as tzechuk's avatar always makes me smile. As I've said before, tzechuk, she's darling. |

Letty is definitely one cute kid.
However, my nephew'd giver her a run for her money. I'd put up his pic, but if my brother ever found out, he'd kill me.
My avatar comes from a post ages ago. Some collage of funny animal pics. It made me laugh, so I stole it & trimmed it down. I always hope that people will look at it and realize I'm not being serious (which is the case most of the time... ). |

Well mine is a picture of me of course! as a youngster.
It's cut out from a larger family portrait (my sister Delirium is the one with the red hair sitting in front of me):
The artist who painted our portait is Jill Thompson. She rocks!
Fans of The Sandman will know where I'm coming from. |
That reminds me of when I used to go to a lot of public ecstasy parties (there used to be a weekly party at an ice skating rink in Orlando) and there'd always be like one or two families there rolling together. FREAKIN BIZARRO. |

You got it!
Incidentally, Flotsam, what does your avatar say?
Is that Arabic? |
Not exactly. The whole diagram is meant to represent the Sikh symbol of the Khandra:
But it replaces the blades with various religious symbols representative of Punjab:
The Omkar
For Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism and Sikhism.
The Star and Crescent
For Islam.
The Cross
For Christianity.
The Ek Onkar
For Sikhism, but as it is a form of the Tattwas...
It really stands for all the Indian religions as well.
And if you look closely off on the side you will see:
The Happy Human
Of Humanism bumping off the butt of the Omkar. Which is a somewhat fitting tribute, as I see it.
The mosaic is meant to represent the collection of religions represented in Punjab, their syncretic mergence in Sikhism and the overall similarities and potential for cohesion and cooperation between all faiths. It is placed at the India-Pakistan border at Wagah where Pakistani and Indian soldiers compete with each other in militant marching antics at the flag retreat ceremony each evening. The adjacent billboard reads:
Welcome to India, The Largest Democracy In The World.
And I think that's pretty cool. So I took a photo. |

That's funny, cuz I always thought your avatar spelled (spelt?) b i t c h, in a funky way...
Mine is one of the Hanson brothers from the best hockey movie ever - Slapshot. "Hanson" was my nickname for a number of years as my friends thought I resembled them. |

My avatar is of the All Blacks (the New Zealand rugby team) performing the final, apparently throat-slitting, gesture of the new Kapo o Pango haka. They are the number one team in the world and have the best record of any international team in world rugby, having a winning record against every country they have ever played, going back over 100 years.
Kia kaha!! |

Actually, now that Hanson mentions it, I can kind of see that myself. Takes a bit of imagination, but I can see it. |

Victor Choi.

Viktor Robertovich Tsoi (Russian: Виктор Робертович Цой) was a famous Russian rock artist and leader of the rock group Kino. Tsoi was born to a Korean father and Russian mother on June 21, 1962 in Leningrad, USSR (now St. Petersburg, Russia). His Korean family name is usually transcribed in English as Choi or Choe. He died in a car accident on August 15, 1990. He is regarded as one of the pioneers of Russian rock and has a huge following in the countries of the former Soviet Union even today, as of 2006.
Few bands in the history of Russian music have been more popular or have had more impact on their genre than the rock band Kino. Any discussion of Kino must inevitably begin and end with the creator, writer and lead singer of the band, a man who was once called "the last hero" of Russian rock and "a legend". The band was born when he was, lived when he did, and died with him in a tragic accident. The life of Victor Tsoi is the life of Kino.
