Nothing exceptional for a cat (smarter than any dog).
I've known some cat owners who've gotten their felines to use the toilet and flush, regularly.
Coaxing them to want to do it is half the battle. |

I saw one comment in the midst of all of them that said "man that cat is dumb he's wasting all the water."

I remember a cat of mine used to paw the kitchen cupboard to try and open it like I do. I laughed and thought, good, I don't want him into everything anyways. But one day I turned his paw around in a single half-effort attempt to show him how to do it. He picked it up on the first and only attempt I made in an offhand way. And suddenly he was opening and into every cupboard, drawer, door and yes, even the friggin' fridge! (though he had to lay on his back and pry his paw in there good before giving it the ol' heave ho).
That cat was always into trouble. And the best darn feline I've ever had. His nickname was "Siggy", his name Sigmund Freud. And he was as smart as any two year old kid, permanently stuck in the terrible twos. I miss that cat.
Lounge cats, affectionate cats, prima donnas, all are nice and all. But... |
