Hey, while were on the subject of stuff disappearing, am I allowed to put a small pic of a poster (i.e., a large printed picture), featuring an illustration of a half-naked Chinese girl sitting on the banks of a pond, in my signature line? I tried that last night and it was almost immediately removed, and then I was unable to post anything in my sig-line for a while, text or images.

I'm guessing that someone thought I was trying to slip something prawnographic past the less observant, but I wasn't. It was really quite tasteful. It's a repro of an old advertisement. Now I can see how some old illustrations -- those depicting racist scenes in a jovial/favourable light -- might be of dubious merit or intent. But the poster I uploaded seems quite tame, and it doesn't seem to me that an advertisement that was deemed acceptable for public display in 1930s Shanghai would be much of a problem on 2006 Dave's ESL Cafe.

Or perhaps it was removed for some reason I don't know. Could well be, as I've posted other of these same posters that were in a whole different world of risque, and yet there was never a problem/deletion with those.
