That's the problem. The UK is not aware enough of Islam!!

there is so much that the average briton isnt aware of, but i dont think we should resort to declaring Muslim holy days as public british holidays when, for example, St. George's Day still isnt a public holiday. Will we do the same for Rosh Ashona, Diwali, Hanukkah, Pesach, et all. im not saying that that is what you are suggesting but the idea by muslim mps is ludacris. Sorry to sound anal about it but shouldnt they be more concerned about people from their faith blowing themselves up on planes then advocating proposed public holidays? in any case im not muslim, why should i have to celebrate ramadan?

i guess one could propose cross cultural interaction days for people like me but then again these holy days are more about reflecting on oneself (which to be fair is fair enough) then 'educating' infadels like me in their ways, rites and traditions.

And you are my friend? All your posts relative to the topic on Islam has been nothing but blasphemous. Yet here you claim you know pretty much everything it has to offer when in actual fact you don't. Yeah sure there are nutcases out there making a name for themselves whilst the rest of the crowd are taking a pounding. Some advice would be to cease on the assumptions because all you're really doing is regurgitating the garbage thats coming through the edited channels.

Well then to what extent would the majority of the UK have to be 'aware' of Islam before Muslims start to feel a part of our society? Its a difficult one...
