After experiencıng a nightmare of an time 5 years ago Im heading back to S-K. I dont know much about the YongTong area, many expats? Whats it like? (positive comments really appreciated).

Just on a side note, I did a runner 5 years ago after having my passport taken from me, being driven 2 hours out of Seoul after being told I would be working in Seoul, thrown into a dirty (literally) apartment with zero furniture, not being paid on time, being paid less than agreed upon and told I would be 'hurt' by the directors husband if I left - who I was told was a gangster.

5 years later and immigration told my recruiter (who is a good guy reccommended by a friend currently teaching in Seoul) they weren't prepared to issue an E2 because I was ''reported badly and blocked for an E2''. He says he ''pursuaded them successfully after difficult trying very long time(sic)''.

The point is I get held to ransom and then Im the one who almost ends up blacklisted! I know there's good and bad in Korea, and I quite like the place, but the sooner there's an accessable and effective way the bad eggs can be dealt with - the less misery we newbies will endure. Im now a newbie take 2.

Hey there. I work in Yong-Tong, Suwon. The place is quite in the day, but at night it comes to life. There is a big HomePlus supermarket within walking distance. Kyung-He University is near by so there are many uni students at night. I got to Seoul a lot to have fun. It takes about 45min via bus to get to Gangnam. About 1h45m to get to to Sinchon with a few transfers. It doesnt bother me too much because i sleep on the bus. In the end Yong-Tong is not a huge city, but it still has its fair share of things to do. (Mostly drinking).
If you have any questions hit me back.
