Hi,
My sisters are coming out for a month in October and I am thinking about renting a handphone for them. Does anyone have idea on cost.location etc? Would it be cheaper just to buy a phone and sell it later? Thanks~ |

There are phone rental desks just inside the arrivals area of Incheon Airport.
They are very expensive however so it is best to keep outgoing calls to a minimum.
I managed a 70,000W bill in only 6 days which only involved making a handful of short calls.
Luckily my company was paying for it. |

| Even Koreans don't use it anymore. They probably figured out it sounds silly. |

Cheaper to find a good used one and set it up as a card phone. |

| There are several phone rental booths inside Incheon Int'l. As a previous poster mentioned, the price is pretty steep. If you ask several key questions and stay disciplined on calling out, you'll be okay. Only one of the Big Three (LG, KT and SK) had both free incoming calls and free text messaging. I'm relatively sure it was LG, but I could be mistaken. I was pleased with the service and the price was good considering the other options for staying in touch while you're moving around in Korea. |
