| I live in a brand new building, I don't think it has insulation, but the cold/heat stays in. When I leave in the morning, I obviously shut off the AC, and when I get back 15 hours later (really), it's still cool. Not cold, but darn near close. I usually forget to put the AC back on until bed time, and then I only put it on for about 2 hours. My bill (and this is keeping a pretty cold apartment, well, it's a bachelor) was only 20000 (prob be about 40000 this month). I love my place. Same goes for the heat in winter, though the heat dissipates by the time I get home, but heats up quick and I don't need to leave it on long. |

Wow, that's cheap! I thought Florida had expensive utility bills, guess not.
In the Palm Springs area, Southern California Edison raised their rate for the 3rd time this year.
My friend lives in 3,000 sqft house AC at 78 degrees and bill was over $1000 a month.
Another, house of 1700 sqft AC at 80 and bill was $525 for July.
That's if you can even afford to buy a house out here.
I don't know how teachers/firemen/policemen/ can become a homeowner anymore.
Seems like nothing is cheap in SoCal.
Keep in mind everyday is over 100 degrees in Summer. |

Gee... no wonder I couldn't get anything clean!! 
I had just a plain 'ole Korean washer before. Now I have a washer/dryer combo.
No more waiting 5 days for mostly-dry-but-always-a-little-damp clothes in the summer or cardboard jeans & scratchy towels any time.  |

House size and temperature. We have 2 stories...
She complains all the time because I like to keep it low (around 65 degrees) The damn a/c never goes off from June to the end of Sept.
We have friends with bigger houses that have 100 dollar electric bills. Of course their houses suck major ass because it's so goddam hot in there.
I like to sleep under down blankets and pretend it's winter!!
It's all me, I admit it.

I never understand people who have their homes so bloody cold in the summer. I think some people actually have it cooler in the summer than the winter. Maybe it's some kind of macho thing. My home is so cold.... |

First of all...dryers ! I really thought only the president and his entourage had them.
It's all my bf. I would have turned on the AC twice by now if it were upto me. However, we do have a bit of a greenhouse effect going on. The sun comes up and heats up our apartment and it doesn't cool down much all day. |

It's freaking hot outside ok!?? It's HOT! I'm tired of the heat! I can't even swim because the swimming pool water feels like a jacuzzi! 6 hours to the closest beach!
I'M NOT CRAZY, I'M HOT!

Edit: The average temp here is 108.0 (42.2) during the worst days, but it's gone up more than that a few times.
And don't tell me there's no humidity, today it's at 79% |
