Hi

I am off on my visa run to Fukuoka next week.

Can anyone suggest a reasonably priced (cheap) Hotel/Motel/Guesthouse close to the Korean Consulate? I'd appreciate a name, address and approximate cost (and website) if you have it.

Thanks

Tam and Mike

We stayed at the "New Green"? Guesthouse. You'll get a cubicle for 30,000. You need to take a bus and then the subway to the consulate.

I like the Toyoko Inn hotel chain. Stayed at the Eki-Minami branch a month ago. Around 50,000 won.

Nice accomodations, but don't know how close it is to the consulate.

Find a capsule hotel, they're all over the place, and they have great saunas/spas for about 35 usd a night. Good luck.

check the STICKY posts for more info......................

but I found, perhaps like yourself, almost ALL the posts regarding accomodation to be lousy - much too vague to be useful.

The easiest place to find, and most convenient is almost across the street from the subway exit nearest the embassy.

They didnt ask for my passport, but probably a good idea to get a photocopy, or check-in before filing at the embassy.

The details on my post under the Fuk. visa run.

If you are looking for a heap of hotels in the about 70 000 -80 000 won range just head straight to Hakata Station, there at least 5 of them all offering similar facilities...The Sun and Green Hotels are not too bad
