The first 15 minutes of the evening news had something like 6 segments about this tonight. I never realised what an important part of life this was to the average Korean. Shocked

I wonder how many foreigners here have actually gone into these establishments and how much money has been lost.

I've played a single game of video poker maybe 3 times in my life and have never been to Vegas.

Koreans are a highly addictive species - Internet, cigs, soju, etc. Legalizing gambling in Korea certainly would cause a major societal riff here with the economy in as bad shape as it is.

People in every country spend their money on something....they don't save the money if you remove gambling...they just drink it away. I never feel sorry for anyone who loses their money through vice.

From the stats I've read, Koreans save far more money than Westerners. From my experience, I would tend to agree.
Video gambling is a huge problem in Canada.
