I don't trust me semi retarted monkey recruiters they said I can stay in Korea after my E2 visa is cancelled as long as I can show them a ticket or reservation and my new contract for my next E2 visa which maybe like 10-12 days after my visa expires.

I don't trust them I think they are full of it.

Do I have to run out of the country to get a tourist visa ? or can I get it in Korea?

You have to go to immi and ask for an extension. I think that's what he meant. I've never heard of this being refused as long as the person had a plane ticket out. You supposedly have to make the request in advance, so do it now.

E. Permission to Extend Period of Stay

♣ Information (Extension period of stay for departure)

When a foreigner can not leave Korea within the period of stay granted (by your expiry date) because of unsecured transportation or other unavoidable reasons, if he/she files for an extension of stay for departure to the applicable immigration office with an application form, passport, a confirmed ticket and materials indicating statement of reasons for making an application, he/she can get a 10 day extension without any fee payment.

To put it in a nutshell.

You said your E2 was cancelled. If that means you quit (or got fired), then you should go to the immigration office and make sure that THEY know you are NOT working for your past boss. They will give you an exit order (usually 14 days) from your last date of employment.

If your E2 has EXPIRED then you MUST leave the country OR get an extension by showing your ticket out of the country dated within 14 days of your visa expiry date.

The third option is make a quick trip out of the country going to anywhere.
-You get your exit stamp when you leave.
-You get a new visa waiver stamp when you enter that is good for 30-180 days depending on your nationality.

Maybe you just didn't type it how you meant, but the above is wrong. You MUST extend it before the end of your VISA. If you do this, they will give you a couple weeks after your VISA expires to make your flight provided you have proof you are leaving.

NO... If your visa is cancelled on the 31st (31st is your last working day) you have 14 days to be out of the country and there is NO extension. It is technically an exit order. (Been there done that).

You will have to make your visa run within 14 days of your visa cancellation or jump out and back on a visa waiver.
