I was looking at the newspapers at a newspaper stand and one of the tabloid sized papers had a couple of pictures of blurred out naked girls. I asked my girlfriend what the story was about and she told me that a couple of English teachers were discovered to have gone traveling with some high school girls and then the naked pictures from the trip got put up on a Cyworld site and that's how they were discovered... maybe this is old news

Can you ask your gf to get the name of the newspaper and tell us when you saw it? Then maybe some of the Korean-speaking posters here can find the story and give more detail....

And I am positive most native speaking ESL teachers don't have or even can't have a cyworld page WITHOUT having a jin-beun-jeong (KID) and that is the only way to register for a cyworld page.

I think it is only the Korean media trying to stir-up more trouble-
so ****** juvenile......honestly

My old middle school newspaper had better stories than what is read in the English-language news media in Korea.....

You can find the Korean article here:

and an English translation here:

It wasn't a Cyworld page but a blog that some teacher maintained........well read yourself.

- there was an american guy with a myspace page
- he alluded to sleeping with his students (presumably adults)
- he had some pictures of naked asian women he had supposedly slept with

- his website was brought to a wider audience courtesy of the marmot's blog
(where the marmot more or less predicted another scandal)
- one or more people in the comments section of said blog talked about reporting the guy to someone (for what alleged crime I don't know)

I haven't read any subsequent newspaper articles, but I believe the above events were mentioned.

Congratulations marmot, looks like we might see this scandal that you predicted, though it was inevitable after you ratted the guy out.

Newsflash to the korean public, it is not illegal for white guys to sleep with korean women.. it is not illegal for teachers to sleep with their students (though it may be immoral)

Another netizen wrote, In five years of teaching, I saw many kind of native speaker teachers. While working with them, there were many times when I had to quit because I felt dirty and ashamed due to their feelings of superiority and insincere class preparation, and native speakers lacking even morals are given full-service like a king, receiving money for their plane ticket, free apartments, cable, Internet and furniture. Now with even women satisfying them in bed, would native speakers return to their own countries to work in Walmart again?

Oh I don't know. Some of those chicks at Walmart are pretty hot.

Yes, the guy is correct. It is being discussed in this thread as well as another one in the Job Related Discussion. There's no need to have five or six threads with the same information:
