Don't hold your breath.
That was NOT meant to be rude, just a statement of fact.
It is not impossible but IT IS really hard to find a system here if you:
a) want English windows
b) don't want to have to BUY a new version of windows to put on top of the Korean one. |

I would honestly seek a notebook out on www.danawa.com
You'll probably end up having to get a K-Friend or a Korean colleague to put up their ID number for you so you can get it delivered but the merchants in Yongsan are reluctant to match the prices I've found on Danawa, even with my K-GF whittling his initial price down to one more reasonable...
As for WindowsXP... I don't really condone piracy but needs must... I'd say you download the original version before XP1 from a torrent site and apply a crack to it which will allow you to circumvent the update system that is in place and will normally stop you from updating your Windows unless you do have a legitimate copy... if you need any advice on what to download or how to apply the crack then feel to drop me a PM and I'll give you some further guidance.. |

Unless you're really hung up on being 'legal' I would follow this advice. It's exactly what I did. |

| If you buy a brand new HP laptop out here they come with both an English and Korean copy of Windows. Totally legit too. |

I just bought a computer from Dell Korea and I ordered it with English Windows, English keyboard and English manuals. No problem at all. Received the computer 6 days after I ordered it. |

I don't mean to be provoking but...
Apple Macbooks and MacbookPros are supposed to be a good deal. Intel chips, updating to Merom very soon.
It comes with lots of software and an operating system that work in any common language, no need to buy a specificly English unit. I could switch my Mac to Chinese today. Also, there are no known virus/bugs/trojans etc. (there has been recent attempts/security-discoveries but there really are none in circulation) |
