|
|
After returning from my summer vacation, found my scooter tires low on air. I went to the gas station where I always go and was surprised that gas stations here in Korea (this one anyway) don't have air. They sent me around the corner to a repair shop where I got some air with some kind "please" and "thank you"s. It seems like it should be easier to get air than going to a repair shop. Am I missing something here (as usual)? What's the easiest way to check and fill the air in my scooter tires?
Much thanks, Drew |

Back when I had a scooter, I always went to the same repair shop to get air for my tires. It allowed me to build up somewhat of a relationship with the mechanics, who were always pleased to see me. This resulted in getting great service at a great discount any time I actually needed work on my scooter. |

I think this is true at all gas stations. I've never found air at any of them either. In my experience, scooter repair guys are the friendliest people in Korea, with one exception. Avoid the guy a couple of doors down from where Pizza Town used to be in Koong-dong, Taejon. He's a rat.

Scooter, Ya-ta Boy, scooter. No motorcycles for me. And after that inline skater wiped me out (I kid you not...I was hit by an inline skater speeding downhill, out of control) causing me to fall over and slide down the hill (can anyone say road rash?), I never rode it again. I literally left it there and told a co-worker he was welcome to take it and keep it if it was still there when he went looking for it.
Never again.
And always, ALWAYS, watch out for those deadly inline skaters. They are road hazards. |

Road rash? Yikes! Ya do have to watch out for those skaters. Can't trust 'em. Can't trust anyone who'd wear those funny-lookin' helmets. Anyway, sorry about your crash.
(I was using 'motorcycle' in its generic sense. I thought 'scooter skuz' was more offensive than 'motorcycle mamma'. Didn't want to unduly offend.) |
