Evidently just another nutcase who, I guess, wanted a free business-class ride back to the States.

apparently he was out of state with his relatives celebrating xmas when it happened

could it be the ol 'get the heck out of Thailand before I spend the rest of my life in a not so nice place' ploy?

DNA evidence proved he wasnt the murderer.

The good news is that this virtually garuntees that Jon Stewart will win another Emmy next year because he is going humiliate and decimate CNN, MSNBC, FOX News et al. What a bunch of boners, this whole thing has been ridiculous and just shows how stupid the media is. Not to mention the crazy hysteria surrounding child molesters/killers/kiddy porn. Another example of the red herring the media produces to distract us from a disintegrating country.

This nutcase should be made to pay back all expenses associated with his confession. He should also be incarcerated for making a false statement to police. Rolling Eyes

He's probably going to California to face kiddy porn charges that he skipped out on to go to Thailand in the first place, don't worry, he's going to be doing some time and have to be registered as a sex offender.

But I think CNN and Fox should be fined for being retarded and wasting my time.

Unfortunately, he'd probably get off those charged due to reasons of insanity and just cost the state even more.

Someone on CNN made the point, "well, you've got this child pornographer teaching in Thailand, they couldn't actually leave him there." The DA can at least save her career that way. "I was damned if I do and damned if I don't. Don't meant letting this guy diddle little girls in a backwater."

Not saying it's right.

I personally hope the professor who "blew the case wide open" will be the one that hangs, probably not legally but career wise. He's the one that smoked out Karr for the DA. Apparently the DA wasn't going to press charges but he claimed he was going to confront Karr himself or some such rot and that lit a fire.

The professor made a documentary or two exculpating the Ramsey family of the crime. He seemed rather vested in their innocence. It's entirely possible he was working to create a fall guy. His argument seemed to be "he knew too much about the case" but it's pretty easy help a guy figure out details based on what you refuse to talk about.

I remember once the network guy at my work was going to Russia on holiday during February. Record cold was sweeping over Russia and killing people and this guy didn't even like eastern Europeans. He'd grumble about them all the time. Now he suddenly decided going to Russia on holiday in the dead of winter.

I was rather innocent and asked my Russian coworker Igor "Why is the network guy going to Russia?" I figured Igor would be the first person he talked to. His answer was a very emphatic "I CAN'T TALK ABOUT THAT!"

It quickly clicked. A single, miserable 35 year old network guy who was striking out with Toronto women right left and center and had a hankering for 19 year olds.

"IGOR, HE'S GOING FOR A MAIL ORDER BRIDE!"

"I CAN'T CONFIRM THAT."

Bingo.

There's a police tactic to get people to confess (even to crimes they did not commit) by giving them leading questions. And then when they've answered all these leading questions, the cops are like "you know too much about the case! You must have done it. Confess."

I agree. The media is shit. Especially CNN from what Is aw. especially Larry King. Dumbass *beep*.

JonBenet's Aunt to larry King: "The media is rabid and out of control"
Larry King to JB's Aunt: "I agree"
Larry to the camera: "Stay tuned for 3 more hours of our orgy of coverage of this case"

Fucking idiots. They got what they deserved here. It wont teach them a lesson though.

All right, just because THIS particular guy didn't kill her, that doesn't mean Korean media & society have to suddenly stop assuming all foreigners in Asia might be kiddie-porn-addicted child-killers, does it?

CNN reports something about "they flew him across the country in a state-owned jet" and then show video of a prop plane. Uh huh.

Clearly it's better to err on the side that all foreigners, if they're not freezing their own children, are getting their middle school girls drunk, taking nude photos of them, shipping them off to Takashima for pick up by former members of the Imperial Japanese Navy, and then posted up in that Yakushima war shrine.

Not a bad strategy when your Hagwon cheats you out of return airfare. Which Korean Haggy teacher will be next to confess?!

BTW, predict how long it takes the Korean media to report on this. Such big news, they'll probably have to.

The worst part was that alot of people and media outlets were spinning this story to make it out like transgendered or gay people are all child predators and perverts. Nutbar O'Reilly and others never hesitatied to talk about his possible transgender status. It reminded it me of Silence of the Lambs and the problems that came with that film.

Perhaps he just hated his fellow farangs so much that he decided he'd make life hell for them.

Does anyone know if there's any proof he actually worked in Korea? I saw his CV and it looks implausible.
