| This site's residents tend to overlook (or downright attack anyone) who posts about bad foreigners. There are a massive amount of bad Korean bosses, but the Koreans aren't the only problem with the industry here. |
One more I forgot. One guy I knew was working a full-time job, and a part-time job in the evenings. He was also privately tutoring one of his students on the side (his supervisor from his full-time job set him up with the private!!). He took off after payday from that job and didn't give notice to any of them! |

How about the guy that did a runner last year from our school when there was no need. I work at a private elementary school and the people are really very understanding and nice.
To give you the set up - 2 men - 1 Korean American (29) and 1 Canadian (23) were hired last minute at our school. The former did a good job and seemed concerned about the kids. When he decided he did not want to do this, he gave notice and the school was very kind and gave him no flack and all monies due. BTW - for the last month he was a real jerk to the students and his fellow teachers - verbal abuse and physical threats.
Now the 2nd - the Canadian was a real jerk - incapable to teaching and did not care about the students at all - the Grade 4 students should be able to understand him even though his vocabulary was more appropriate to defending a thesis and he did no prep.)
After seeing that the 1st teacher had no problem leaving, the 2nd went on his paid 3 week summer vacation (with the encouragement of the 1st teacher who had left but stayed in a new job) and just did not return for Summer Camp.
The first day of Summer Camp, no teacher - they thought he might have been ill and tried to reach him on the phone and went around to knock on his door. He phoned the head teacher later that night (early AM) and told her - oh, I'm gone - I left a key and a note taped to the microwave inside my locked apartment - bills outstanding, too bad. Not a sorry note in his voice that he had hurt the school, students and the other teachers who had to cover his classes for 3 weeks of Summer Camp and the first several weeks of the 2nd term.
Would I help a teacher like this to run - no way! He could have made it palatable if he had even had the courtesty to scamper home to mommy and e-mail the school as soon as he arrived.
I have to agree - sometimes, the foreigner is the jerk. |

Shhh...now you are just being silly trying to make sense and see things from both sides of the coin! That will just not do... |

You know what, OP? If the school is that bad, I might JOIN him and leave, too. |
