1. Spiders (an irrational, stupid but very real fear) I have nightmares about them.

2. Deep water, I have had 2 near drownings.

3. Boredom, a very dangerous state - I have made all my worst decisions when bored. Had plenty of opportunity to get used to it, in small town Korea unfortunately!

everyone fears death or their family dying...that's sorta a general rule, isn't it?

it's HOW you die that's scary.

plane crash is top on my list. every bloody time i get on a plane..i think i die a little. it stresses me out so much. every bit of turbulence, every take off..my heart races. and i imagine the few mins when the plane is diving out of the sky, and you sit there in your healthy body and mind, thinking ...'shit, i'm gonna DIE any second now.'...that awful panic and helplessness.

drowning is next. people tell me it's actually not a painful way to go, but they're not people who've actually drowned. Smile it's the panic again...holding your breath til you think you're gonna explode, searching for a way to get to the surface, and finally breathing in a last gasp of death.

waking up to a madman with a knife would be last. i really don't like the idea of your home and safe place being invaded by a scary assed killer sorta type. that one doesn't keep me up at night, like plane crashes and drowning, 'cause for some reason i figure that's less likely to happen. but it happens. what a way to go.

and because i don't ALWAYS think about dying...next is heights...i get wobbly and dizzy and terrified. and those damn c*ckroaches. they scare the shit outta me.

You need a big fluffy dog to cuddle with. That would NEVER happen if you had a big dog next to you.

i'm actually a little scared of big dogs too, (is that fear #6) but maybe 'cause i've never had one. cats scatch now and then, sure...but dogs, they can kill ya.

i mean...i like dogs. i like all animals. but that story a few years back of the lady trying desperately to get her keys into her door in nyc, in some apt. bldg., as her neighbors dogs ripped her apart and killed her. that's scary.

i blame the owners. or maybe they were just some baaaddd dogs. but i still get a little nervous around some big dogs.

luckily for me, they're all bite sized and have dyed pink ears here in korea.

edit: you're a good dog, superfly. Smile

Heights. Not plane-style heights, or if I'm inside.

Lightning. Being outdoors in a lightning storm. I feel it's a certainty I'm gonna get hit. In Seoul I'm much less scared because of all the other tall objects, but back home where it's rural, I get scared as fook.

*** factoids: the safest place to be during a lightning storm is in a car. The least safe place is under a tree.

Can't think of a third, but I'll say big spiders. Scary sods they are.

I don't really have a fear of heights, but I have a terrible fear of being on a high edge without a banister or railing or glass panel or something. I get such a strong feeling of vertigo and I have to back away. Aside from this, I love balloon rides, touring tall buildings, etc.

Oh yeah and crushed animals. Especially the ones when you can still see their last emotions on their faces. Yuck.

Being eaten by a shark. Looks like it would suck.

Being eaten by a bear. Looks like it would suck.

Being eaten by maggots and worms. Looks like something I wouldn't want to look at.

See the theme? I don't want to get eaten...and that's about it.

1. Drowning: can't imagine a more horrific death, having to take that breath and there's no air there.

2. Burning: number 2 with an accelerant.

3. Falling from great heights: this ties into a secondary fear; as my ex-wife put it, "It's not heights you fear, it's edges."

4. Being trapped with full consciousness in a non-functioning body and being unable to communicate.

Man, you and I have got something in common.

1. Drowning
2. Being burned alive
3. Heights
4. Claustrauphobic situations (I don't have time to check the spelling and I don't really give a *beep*. I'm sure I'm close.)
5. Jinju-like trannies.

That had me shuddering. (or is it shuttering?)

Q: What's the worst thing about that?
Is it the claustrophobia,
or having your hands pinned down by your sides (can't brush away any creepies that want to crawl on your face),
or the darkenss?
Is it a death by suffocation, or do you imagine you'd have enough air to go crazy and then starve to death?
Just curious...

I think getting your head sawed off by one of those fvcks in Iraq or Afghanistan would be pretty bad- I'd rather drown or die in a plane crash.
