I haven't used the one at your link but I do use a tv tuner card on my laptop. The quality is such that it doesn't replace a real tv in terms of quality/clarity and ease of channel reception and surfing, and I say this with a latop which is a DELL Precision mobile Work station (meant for graphics, architecture, cad/cam etc. and has 64 MB mobile graphics card and a ultra high quality screen with a 1200 x 1600 native resolution). Still it does the trick and would be a) better than no tv, and B) cheaper than a tv.
But you'd probably still want to pay to get cable, and if you do that, well you might as well get a tv- they're not that expensive and you can sell it to a new teacher when it's time to leave. |
