The units are fine, and apparently the degree is too, though 3 people so far have said they would like a few more elective options. But the administration is not run very efficiently, atleast as of last year.
Still, like I said, it is a good degree, like any other atleast, but for the OP, go with Birmingham. The difference between any Australian MA TESL/Linguistics and a Birmingham degree is pretty big in prestige (because of Australia's bad rap). Is this right? No, but that is how it is. Birmingham is more well known and with an investment like a Masters, I would opt for that. |

| To the person who asked about online Bachelor's degrees, I'd recommend the University of Athabasca. I've taken a few courses through them, and with the exception of one flaky tutor, had a solid experience. |

| The MA in the Humanities program from California State University helped me. I am finishing up classes through www.csudh.edu. It's called the HUX program. Be prepared to study, study, study. It helped me get great job offers and I'm not even finished yet. I make more than I did teaching in Korea and doing tons of privates, with better options. There ae only a few countries tha don't accept an online degree. A few middle eastern countries don't, and I think Taiwan doesn't as well. If your employer is hiring you to teach at one of the better paying schools it usually won't matter, they know what's up. Online degrees are becoming more accepted by people all the time. The times are changing on that one. |
