| Your computer shuts down out of no where; sporadically. What can it be? How can I resolve the problem? |

| Check error log (see what happened). Virus scan (virus). Check fans (heat). Test PSU (not enough juice). |

correct, or check the plug in the outlet. LOL.  That sh!t happened to me yesterday, I was typing up notes for my class and bam! The power shut off. I was like, "WTF?!?!??!". Started taking the bad boy apart and remembered Occam's Razor. Lo and Behold, the plug was loose on the wall. Phew. Thank goodness I didn't take the PSU out lol. |

Sounds like my hi-fi geek days.
Nothing is more frustrating yet compulsive than speaker positioning when trying to create the perfect stereo 'sweetspot'. Taking sand in and out of speaker stands to try to achieve that perfect 'dry' bass. Yes. Only someone too caught up in something would spend hours with a garden trowl thinking maybe another few ounces of sand would make it perfect........Gawd!!! What was I doing??!!!
Then, before that, were the years of guitar geekdom when I spent thousands of pounds per year on guitars, amps and effects to get the perfect guitar sound. This on a students income!!!
For about 10 years I spent roughly half of my income on things that go beep. |

One needs 3rd party software. As far as I know, WinXP has no such utility. The best choice, IMHO, is Motherboard Monitor. It's free and works like a charm.
Or, you could try to shove a thermometer under your CPU. |

I like speedfan which also monitors all fan speeds and temperatures of all your harddrives. |
