When you think about it, why are you trying to make it in Korea and why not back in your own country?

Holy crap, you're back!

I am not making it here. I am traveling the world, broadening my mind to use that phrase. Been in China, Korea, Japan, and will go to Europe, South America and hopefully South Asia.
Plus, I have two countries.

Well, I like to think more outside the confined area of the place where I was born. I'm just not so closed minded that way.

Are you?

Are you one of those people who thinks that until you make it in your own country you will always be 2nd or 3rd rate?

Very arrogant and small minded!

Oh, I just saw your signature and realized you're Canadish.

Yep, Canadia- "The absolute greatest place on Earth. Every other country pales in comparison. Everyone strives to live there(even if they don't know it) in the great cultural utopia without guns, racism or unhappiness."

Are you from Toronto?

Why back in our country and not Korea? For that matter, why not India or Russia? This question doesnt make sense. I like it here for many reasons

- money is pretty good, taxes are almost non-existant. Id rather earn a bit less here and pay 3% tax than make a bit more back home and pay 30% tax.
- Im comfortable here. My job offers me no stress, plenty of down time for other things. I dint take it home with me either like I would if I were back home. My free time is my free time,
- Interesting. Korea is interesting. Canada is not.
- Photography. Back home a guy with a camera is considered a stalker or a perve. Its a fucking stupid mentality of a bunch of up tight losers who inhabit that country. Here I am free to pursue my passion and people dont look at me like Im some weirdo because I take photos of them on the street. Plus, Canada is not photogenic. Its a boring country. Asia is the best place for photography on this planet by a long shot. canada ... is not.

Well, because I already "made it" in the states and was bored silly.

Sure, I make less money here, but it's more of an adventure and I'm enjoying my life here more than I did at home.

I don't like my home country. The US is too slow and boring. I don't like driving 30 miles just to see a movie, or even having to drive everywhere. In Korea, I don't have to worry about money so much. In Korea, I can buy $200 blouses and designer bags. My pals in the states struggle to get by after everything they make goes to rent and bills.

Explain this to me. WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO? What does a designer bag or a 200 dollar blouse do for women anyway? Its such a stupid thing to even want. Men like expensive things too but atlast our toys have actual uses besides just looking nice.

Let's see...maybe I can find the answer if I posed the same question to my great-grandfathers and THEIR fathers, and THEIR fathers, and...

Maybe if you go home and dig out those dusty, faded, black and white, torn at the corners, brown ringed photos laying untouched and unseen in the bottom of a shoebox of your ancestors and look at their faces, then you may have an understanding of why I'm here.

Call it human nature or keeping a tradition alive. My long-dead relatives simply kept heading west and that's what I did. Following in their faded footsteps. And I may just stay here for the long term.

Maybe you want the following answer?
Because back home I suck, and here it doesn't matter as long as i speak english.

I hope that is not what you are trying to imply.

South Korea has a lot of opportunities in comparisson to other Western countries, you just need to find them, or should i say, create them.

To provide a never-ending source of annoyance and fodder for trolling to embittered types like you. Oh yeah, and they pay me silly money for something I like doing.
