Alright.. so I have a new computer and I'm having some problems with setting up Bit Torrent (haven't done it for a while)..

I downloaded Bit Torrent and uTorrent... I selected 'YES' to make utorrent the default program, but everytime I try to download something Bittorrent itself loads up instead of uTorrent... and then it won't even download the program, saying the following:

Quote:
Error regarding "file name:.
Abort the torrent as it could not connect to the tracker while not connected to any peers

I have no idea what to do.. I obviously want uTorrent to be the default and to download shit like the good old days.

Help moi please.

How about uninstalling the other bittorrent program. Maybe your PC will know what to do if only one bittorent program is installed.

BTW............Azureus messes up my internet connection. After running Azureus for a few hours my IE can't connect to anything. Anybody got an idea?

I'm having the same problem with BitTorrent and I'm running Azureus.. What I do is right-click and save the file as a torrent on my desktop and then open the torrent file independently. You could try saving the torrent file then opening it in uTorrent and see if it works.

Regarding making utorrent the default client.

If uninstalling Mainline Bittorrent doesn't work, check in utorrent
Options>Prefrences>General. Clink "associate with .torrent files" and then check the box that say "Check association on start up".

Restart and give it a go. Failing that, in Windows, go to
Tools>folder options>file types

Under registered file types, scroll down to 'TORRENT' and then change to utorrent.

You other problem sounds like the tracker is down. If you really want that file, you can switch on DHT and you might find some peers. Otherwise, you just have to keep looking.
