|
|
| I've been given English Time 6 to use this session with my children's class. I only have the student book at the moment. Is it worth requesting the Teachers Guide? I know with some books they are incredibly useful with supplementary activities, things to photocopy etc. and with others they are next to worthless. So should I bother requesting the teachers book for English Time 6? |

English Time teachers' books have some decent board game and supplementary photocopiables at the back which I thought were very useful for reinforcing the grammar structures presented in the student's book - of course, the students like the games best.
Can you order a free sample request through your bookseller/provider? Many bookstores are often very obliging if you say you represent a school and say you will consider bulk order. |

Hmm I could.. but I think I will just say to my boss "Can I have the teacher book please" instead =) Anyway it sounds useful enough to request. Thanks. |

Just checked my bookshelf.
I have English Time 3 and 4 Teacher's books.
The last 40-50 pages are photocopiable. Mostly unit tests and phonics worksheets.
So might be useful. |

| Depends on how much time you have and how much you like to depend on worksheets and things. I've become used to doing without, and the student book/tape usually provided me with plenty of material to fill up my classes, so I never really used the supplementary stuff in the teachers' guide very much. However, if you want some worksheets and games that you can just photocopy and go, the teachers' guide could be very useful. |

I would also suggest getting the tape/CD. Most of the ET songs are very catchy and my kids really like them. One of my personal favorites....
(to the tune of La Cucaracha)
Do you want pasta?
Do you want pasta?
Yes, I do. Yes, I do.
Do you want soy sauce?
Do you want soy sauce?
No, I don't. I want eggs * * * |

Yeah, my kids LOVE the songs too... if I had to choose, I'd pick the audio over the teacher's book. On the other hand, if all it would take is a request, then get both |
