there is no Sleep mode. Only Restart or Shut Down. Sleep is there, but not highlighted.

Anyone got some ideas about these questions? Thanks

You may have somehow disabled it. To enable it, go to start/control panel/perfomance and maintenance/power options.

Check to see if system standby is on. Also, click on the tab that says "hibernate". Make sure you have the box checked that says "enable hiberation".

Thanks guys, everything you've said so far has worked. I am now having a problem with the vidoe. I installed the video driver from the CD, which took care of the annoying scrolling I was experiencing. But, I can't watch any vidoes. WMP pops up, the sounds comes on, and I just get those crazy WMP swirls, loops, and crap. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Looks like you need codecs now.

Some users don't like installing large codec packs (they can screw up programs) so you could just play video, music and DVD with Videolan. I now use Videolan media player as my default player for everything and find it to be almost flawless in operation.

If you want to use WMP you may want to download a codec pack like Acemega.

Just google for 'videolan' or 'acemega'.

Be careful about sticking the vacuum in the box to clean the dust.
I stuck the vacuum over the power fan and on startup had overclocked the processing somehow. Had to reinstall and get rid of the fan.
