Right so there was a tree in Texas that was spouting water. Your first hunch?

a) A leaking pipe under the tree is forcing water up through some cracks.

b) An underground aquifer under pressure is forcing water up through some cracks.

c) Jesus! Oh Jesus it's miracle water! Praise Jesus! Drink the miracle water and lose weight! Drink the miracle water and get out of credit card debt. Oh thank you Jesus! Jesus!

The majority opinion of locals was C.

Turns out it's probably A. See when you turn off a pipe on the property, the water, gasp, stops. The miracle of the water line! Thank you Jesus for modern plumbing! After they ran some tests on the miracle water, they discovered it was loaded with bacteria.

Even after all of this, people STILL want to believe it's miracle water.

Let them drink it. Darwin awards. It's better for humanity as a whole if people who are so brainless don't have their stupidity genes passed down to the next generation.

The tree tapped into an active water line that runs to a sink in a shed in their backyard, SAWS spokeswoman Anne Hayden told the San Antonio Express News.

Well theres the answer right there. Red Oaks (Quercus rubra) http://www.na.fs.fed.us/spfo/pubs/silvics_manual/Volume_2/quercus/rubra.htm
-are especially susceptible to fungal and fire damage which destroys their inner cambial tissue. Thus they often have hollowed or dead passages in the trunk, which is how water travels up through them. they're also one of the fastest growing and rooting trees, lending credence to its probable puncturing of an underground water pipe.

Problem solved.

There's nothing to stop people from concocting things in the name of religion or practicing religions that are in the lower modes of material ignorance (generally meant for meat-eaters...)

I'm not aware of any authentic scripture that mentions miracle-water spouting trees...

A spiritually realized person can see the "hand of God" everywhere within the creation, however. What material scientist can create a seed that will grow into a large tree?

What seed can create a computer?

The creator of all seeds, expanded as the supersoul within each seed, living being, and atom can create computers sophisticated enough to keep track of every nook and cranny of creation (while simultaneously enjoying vacation far away from the material world...)

They found chloroform in the water, or so says the article that mindmetoo linked. I think here they meant coliform, which are bacteria. Chloroform is the stuff in embalming fluid.

But we can prove the minds of men made the computer you are using. We have to take on faith some god is reponsible for seeds.

Why do people believe in the big bang? Why do people believe we never went to the moon? Why do we believe that Bush's cousin orchestrated 911 or his grandfather was a friend of Hitler?

I guess a lie is sometimes easier to believe than the truth.

Come to think of it, where are the 'authentic' scriptures that mention mystical yogis flying to the moon?

Come on RTeacher, everyone here knows that had you been there, you'd be the first one in line to gobble up that grubby water and start handing out Krishna pamphlets...

Big Bang is not a lie. You seriously confuse the body science with the likes of TV preachers.

The truth is that religion is like a placebo. Sometimes it works, but that's only because you think it does. In reality, it's just a cheap sugar pill.
