Did the Ben and Jerry's in Kangnam close down? I remember it was one of the hottest days of the year and I was with my gf and we wanted some icecream and I told "I know where to get the good stuff, don't worry darling," and we walked around forever in the blistering sun before giving up and going to BR.

Best flavor: Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
Runner up: Cheesecake

(alright, James, to tell the story honestly, I was planning on prowling around in my shiny black equus offering ice cream to any girl wearing a high school uniform. you got me.)
Sadly, yes, it closed. Don't you just love it when you decide to go to a favorite shop, only to find it is closed? Things open and close so quickly in Seoul.

Pralines and Cream... on top of a slab of warm pecan pie. Holy Communion for sugar addicts.

The best ice cream in the world for me is gelato- but only in Italy! For some reason, the gelato I've tasted outside of Italy has never tasted the same... pretty much any flavour is good for me, but my top three would be: Yogurt Frutti di Bosco (Wildberry yogurt), Mela (apple), and Melone (cantaloupe melon)...

In Korea I'd have to say Baskin Robbins, "I Am Sam" and "Chocolate Mousse".

I'm hoping to get some hot fudge sauce soon from home- can't find it anywhere here! Anyone up for a hot fudge sundae? Very Happy

The best flavor is called Rockets or Shooting Stars maybe.. It has the red and blue pellets that explode in your mouth. Awesome.

its just too hard to decide which flavor is my favorite

but i guess based on buying frequency, it'd have to be

1) haagen daz coffee
2) ben & jerry's chocolate fudge brownie
3) godiva belgian dark chocolate
4) cookies and cream
5) vanilla swiss almond

The only flavours of ice cream worth eating are:

  1. tiger tail
  2. tiger tail
  3. tiger tail
  4. tiger tail
  5. tiger tail
  6. tiger tail
  7. tiger tail
  8. ...

It's a personal mantra.

Anything chocolate. Tiramisu or the Caramel Brownie that Haagen Daz makes is great. My rule, no nuts, or fruit/berry stuff.

I'm off to Baskin-Robbins before they close. (when do they close?)

Any requests? They can put up to three flavours in one pint, and that's exactly what everyone orders. Like a pint with 3 flavours is better than one with 2. But I normally prefer to screw with their heads and ask for just 2. "Half of X and half of Y. Nope, just those two. Ban-ban." It also makes it cleaner. I like keeping different flavours segregated and isolated from opportunities for self-advancement.

Different serving girls, different B-R branches, the "just 2 flavours" thing never fails to stun them for a brief moment.

So what should I get? I just don't eat much ice cream, like maybe 10 times per year. No, not even that. 6~7 times. So I'm always standing there all big-eyed ... duuuuuh.....duuuuuuuh....... and other customers come in after me and order before I do.

Two flavours.

I can't believe this thread got all the way to the bottom of page two before anyone mentioned the only two legitimate contenders--chocolate chip cookie dough and cheese cake. Except for Mr. Billy, the rest of you are a bunch of unlettered philistines.

I worked at an ice cream parlor in college and at that time, chocolate chip cookie dough was the most popular. We "had to" try each of our store's 34 flavors in order to be able to tell the customers what each was like. I forgot a lot and had to do a lot of re-sampling. The best part was eating tons of chopped up pecans and almonds that we used on sundaes.

Anyway, of the ones I ate there, peanut butter cup was my favorite. I always liked Blue Moon too.
