|
|
I must be missing something but every major city i've ever traveled to has at least a night bus system to pick up the slack when the normal bus routes and the subways stop. However, i haven't been able to find any information on night buses in Seoul, although I have seen a couple buses running around Kangnam at 1am-ish.
I'm trying to get down to Bundang, or anywhere close that will allow me to go out on the weekends without spending $25 for a taxi ride home. But even in general...any late night public transportation? |

hey Shane, I have the same problem as you. I live in Seongnam City, which is near Bundang. We should somehow try to share a taxi.
Holla back! |

Just so you know, Seongnam City is Bundang, or rather, Bundang is in Seongnam City.
Anyways, you are pretty much out of luck when it comes to Buses. They stop running between 1:30AM and 2AM-ish typically, but a lot stop before that as well. If you don't catch those, you are waiting until 5AM-ish when some buses start back up. |

If I had to take a 25,000 Won cab ride I think I'd sleep in a jimjilbang (sp?) for a few hours and wait until the buses start up again. |

Nothing better than sleeping with a few drunken adjossis' on a frickin' hard floor!
I'll pay the 25,000 and sleep in my own bed, thank you. |

Or just spend about 6000 won and veg out in a PC Bang. They don't care if you crash or use the computer they still get paid. Plus a lot of those chairs are damn comfy. I spent 10 hours crashed out in a PC bang one time. |

True. I've never seen a city without at least some night service. But I chalk it up to some Taxi Chebol-type arrangement with the government. |

DVD Bangs are good too. Some can be quite comfy. Just pick any of the Lord of the Rings Movies and you'll have it for hours.
Or, alternatively, just keep drinking and pass out in the gutter. |

You are SOL. The best thing to do is cab (or bus if you can) to Yangjae Stn. and catch one of the Seongnam taxis that wait there all night for people just like you. They are cheaper and won't charge you for going into Seongnam, you do however pay two taxi flag fares. I think it works out cheaper in the end. |

If you stay up until 5.30 you will be able to use public transport. Other than that I would suggest finding people in your area who go to into Seoul too and arrange to share the taxi fare. |
