Hi, I'm hopefully going to be coming to Korea soon to teach, and want to know what I'll need to get a motorbike in Korea?
Do I need a license? (officially or unofficially?!) How easy is it to get one? Can I just convert a UK license or do i need to take a whole new test in Korea or something??
Cheers... |

This is BS.
According to my recent DMV education session, you need a license to operate ANY motorized vehicle in Korea.
125cc and below, you can use the basic operator's license, but you won't qualify for insurance. 125cc and up, you must apply for a motorbike operator's license.
After years of hearing that you didn't need one, it was a surprise to me, but this is coming directly from officials at the Korean DMV who screened me for my operator's license. |
