| I think them hairy krishna fellers would have better luck if they gave out meat tacos rather than their books and stuff. |

I've already stated (well, on another thread...) that the three things that most attracted me to Krishna consciousness were the chanting, the art, and the food. I was also tremendously impressed with how profound Bhagavad-gita (As It Is) philosophy was, but before I joined I was always too stoned to actually read more than a line-or-two...
I would not have been as attracted minus the transcendental art (since I'm a much better artist than "jinju" is a photographer...) but I think that any combination of at least two of those things (eg: chanting and the sanctified food ...) would have been enough to hook me.
I have never noticed any homoerotic Krishna art, but in a few pictures Krishna seems to enjoy cross-dressing, and he also incarnates as a woman ("Mohini") so there is evidence of some transcendental transgenderism.
Veggie tacos or quesadillas with cheese (without animal rennet) would be a better product to sell on the streets, I think, "Dan" (we'll try to set you up with a cart...)
Here's another poster from a classic music/pyschedelic cultural event that featured Krishna devotees:
