I hope you know who you are, you three were riding the #4 line from Sadang to Samgakji around 9P. We were the other waygooks who had the pleasure Rolling Eyes of sharing the car with you. We hope you have the guts to read this

Doing weed in this country is pretty dumb. This country has strict drug laws and if you've done any reading on what has happened to people who get caught and some of recent exposes on Korean media about foreigners doing weed has not been good PR for us. With that said if you want to take the chance we aint gonna stop you

Now doing weed and LOUDLY BRAGGING about it on a crowded subway car is downright moronic. We were a couple of doors down and could hear you clear as day. Do you really think that all the locals on that car had no idea what you were talking about? there is a reason you have jobs here, people want to learn English and many do a pretty good job of learning it so there was a pretty good chance somebody on that subway knew what you were talking about.

Its idiots like you who give the rest of us who work hard and have been here a long time a bad rep. If we had the cash on us we would of dragged your pathetic a$$es to the airport and put you on the next plane out of the country

How about doing the rest of us a favor and taking the next flight back to your home country. By your behavior last nite if and when you get caught you are going to make life much harder for the rest of us.

Some people never learn.

I've done my share, but I've never understood the need to brag about drugs. It's like scoring a bag of something suddenly upped your cool factor?

I'm glad that you are so brave as to put up an internet post about it.

Next time, why don't you confront them in person and tell them how you feel next time.

My guess is that these guys probably go around bragging about their exploits with Korean woman too (whether it's true or not).

As someone who has been in Korea awhile, I too get upset that such idiotic excuse for a human being are represenatives of the teachers in this country.

I think if these dumbarses are stupid enough to brag about their drug use on the subway- they are definitely stupid enough to read about it here on Dave's, simple as that, right?

To be honest, I think people did understand what they were talking about, but they felt that it was none of their business- it's not like they would confront a group of them, obviously you didn't.

Or thought they were just some ignorant foreigners who have no idea how things are ran in Korea.

One time, I was on Line number-1 coming from Uijongbu and there were some GIs' standing in front of me as I was sitting. They were bragging openly about a fight they got into with a group of Koreans and one of them even went further and mentioned something I can't even mention on this board (due to the criminal nature of the conversation, though it was mentioned on the news later as the police couldn't find the person who did it). I was disturbed, but honestly it was none of my business and I just conintued to read my book.

Dude....wake up. ESL teaching is a haven for sorry excuses for humanity.

I'm not defending these guys for what they are, I'm pointing out the people that actually are so indignant about it.

Representatives? Right. If many of the Canadians that I have met in this country are reps for Canada, then we have problems. I look at them as forgeingers in a strange land....MANY of them "FREE" for the first time and they're doing what young adults do with their frist taste of freedom....

Whatever man, to each their own.

Foreigners are not a club, or "brother/sisterhood" of any sort here.

I am in a small minority of Canadians that has never smoked Marijuana or done any other "recreational" drugs.
If people want to do that kind of thing, that is their decision. However, people that are that stupid to brag about doing it in Korea deserve to be caught. There are certainly a number of stupid foreigners over here. Sad

3 guys vs me and my wife, I didn't like those odds especially if they were on something.

plus there is nothing the korean police would love to see than waygooks fighting each other. I didn't want to spend my Fri nite in a Korean police station

besides shaming them here is better, maybe somebody will learn something here

Right..."shaming" them on a message board.

Learn what?

If you're gonna be dumb...don't brag about it, simple.

To bring in the whole "represntatives" thing is a bit much.

I understand and respect you for that.
And you know what, if they are not careful, they will be caught.

But the consequences will be disasterous for everyone if they get caught because they will be portrayed on TV in a way that will make it look like ALL English-speaking foreigners do it, no matter who they are nor where they're from nor how old they are.

I think the first thing we should do is check ourselves, our friends and coworkers. We are sometimes the first people to see this or comprehend this before the Koreans do- So we should be the ones to say something.

I know it is easier said than done, but I think posting here before it makes its way into the Korean media might as well be a start, right?

Spare us the sermon.

Bragging loudly is idiotic, but it's their own dumb call.

Smoking up is another individualistic choice, despite the huge consequences. If they're willing to take the risk for some herbal pleasure, it's up to them.

Sometimes the morality police really needs to chill.
