I just got a new job, a REAL job, working as a journalist for an english-language magazine. Its based in Gangnam, Nonhyeon-dong, near the YMCA. I quickly realized that it takes me over an hour to get to work every morning from my apt in Hongdae, and i've still got 5 months left on the lease!

So I was wondering if anyone had information on housing near gangnam, or near the konkuk university/Gangbyeon area (that's right across the river from Gangnam). I'd be looking for a small studio apartment, or even living with a roommate.

I'm currently living in a studio between Hongdae and Hapjeon station. The area is great, its party central, but the house is one block across the street from the cool places so its quiet. The landlord speaks english and caters to foreigners mostly in his 4 story villa-style apartment place. My neighbors are swedish. There's no key money needed, only one month's rent security deposit, and it comes fully furnished for 500,000 won a month. I'm guessing I'd need someone else to move in for me if I wanted to leave my lease early.
