Will they allow one of us to get 300,000 for housing? I would assume they would not, which is a bargin for them "two for the price of one" kinda thing. It would be great if we could!

mindmetoo: Hahaha! I don't think we're be doing any of that! Since my bf and I are both Asians we'll def pass as the color-coordinated koreans! lol

Best be prepared and get some horse blinkers for your
boyfriend so he doesn't get an eyefull of the local Korean
hotties!

Best wishes for your job hunt and travels to Korea!!

It's very possible to get a couples job near Seoul -- and I don't want to burst your bubble, but it can be challenging for Asians to find work in Korea...challenging, but not impossible. I've read on this forum that some people of Asian decent have had problems Rolling Eyes , but others got jobs without a problem. Just want to give you a 'heads-up' on this front. Wink If you do find it challenging to get work, maybe branch out of Seoul to nearby cities...

Cheers!

My boyfriend and I got a couples job in Seoul easily..we work the same hours (the school tries to accomodate us where they can - but we never come or leave with more than 40 minutes difference between our schedules.) Our school has no problem that we're living together and we're not married. We would love to have known about that 300 000won thing before we signed the contract tho! Cos they are really getting a 2 for 1 deal! But its great cos they know that if they treat us bad..we can BOTH do a midnight run and that would REALLLY damage them! Having said that..we are very unhappy at our school cos we don't get along with management, but hey..couples jobs really are easy to find. PS We even negotiated a raise with our boss cos they aren't paying for 2 apartments for us!! Give us a raise..or lose 2 teachers..u decide! And they did!
