I'm thinking about teaching at a Hagwon in Seoul next year. Where should I live? What are the safest, least stressful parts of Seoul to work and live in? I'm in my mid twenties, so I want to be in a hip part of town with some western speaker, too. Although, as long as it isn't far, that wouldn't be too bad.
Anything I should look for and look out for? What are best places to live in Seoul? Teach?
Qualifications by next year when I apply:
BA degree
CTESOL certification (100+ hours)
1 year teaching exp. from a Public School in S. Korea
With the above mentioned, what I can I expect as far as salary, benefits, etc.
What should I watch out for in a Hagwon? I work for a public school, and I like the way things are done here. Don't know how they do things in a Hagwon. Any advice would be very helpful, and thankyou for clicking.

They are all good. There are NO bad hakwons in Seoul. It would definately be a step up from a public school. More pay, fewer classes, and no prep. In a hakwon you will never have to worry about getting paid or your return airfare or severance. They are always honest about your pension and medical. You get the best of everything there.
Oh, and if you believe that I have a very large, green, statue of a lady located in New York city to sell too just in case you may be interested.

Are Hagwons elsewhere sketchy? Does everyone agree that the Private language schools in Seoul are pretty much good and honest? |
