Hello immigration officer. Yes I'd like to work for you and get deported.
See you this weekend.
See how silly this is? |

@ Darl: You just committed a crime there. Solliciting someone to perform an illegal activity for a third party just like a pimp. Seriously though wise up! I'm not even in Korea yet and I know that's totally stupid. |

Yes I'm reminded of that Simpsons episode where Homer is caught by the IRS and is then used as a rat by the Feds. He walks into Moes and asks if anyone is engaged in any illegal activities. So Darl has immgration got you by the balls? |

I didn't ask anyone else to become involved and I wasn't aware at the time I posted that it was illegal to do such work. If there was any risk, it was to myself as I would be the one committing the crime. But yes I appreciate the irony.

jeez guys, lighten up....just trying to help someone out, man....not every reader is on a visa which prohibits these things, bear in mind....I honestly take no pleasure in trying to help someone with such venomous repercussions...let me just rephrase....if you are legal to do part time jobs, then this is for real. If you are not, then don't read any further. |

Could also be illegals?
OP, do you understand that LOTS of Koreans read this site- including those in law enforcement? |

It is not illegal for everyone.
It is illegal for most teachers as they have an E-2 visa which prohibits it. But if you have an F-2 or F2-1 visa then it is perfectly legal. |

There is nothing illegal about taking part-time work. Even on an E2 you can work at a second location if you submit an application and get the location added to the back of your ARC card. |

It's got nothing to do with you submitting a form at immigration. it's got to do with your primary employer submitting an application, therefore saying it is okay with them.
That's why so many teachers do illeagal private classes. if it was that easy everyone would be doing it. |
