Nice cover, but do the songs live up to the hype? |

| It had some good stuff on it. I voted 'decent effort'. |

Poll already closed, but I'd say 'above average.'
The first half - plus Train in Vain - is especially good. |

| It's an excellent rock n roll album, but their hard-rockin' debut is best in my view. |

| London Calling has some of their best songs. There are also a lot of songs I don't care for, but it's no Sandinista. |

It's a good album but I'm afraid The Clash are the most overrated band of the punk era.
It became very cool in the early 80's atmosphere of political awareness and agitation to say you were a Clash fan. Many people over-looked their average music to focus on their cool image. |

| There are tons more overrated punk bands, especially depending on your definition of punk. I'd say the Sex Pistols are far more overrated. And if you want to involve the new-school crap, NoFX are way too overrated and aren't nearly as phenomenal as the Clash. |

A great double album with lots of superb tracks such as Spanish bombs,Clampdown, I'm not Down. Many other great tracks. One of the best albums ever with at lot of other musical influences noticable throughout the album.
The Clash, London Calling, wrote the book on what a punk album should be. Intelligent political lyrics with great music. If you're a republican or conservative, you would probably be happier with a Pat Boone record!
I was always disapointed with Sandinista. Not enough quality tracks for a triple album. |

| I've never thought of "London Calling" as a punk album. It's too good. |

Considered by Rolling Stone Magazine the greatest album of the 80's
I tend to agree though I'm not too into punk. It made a hell of a statement that disco was dead though |
